WIRE FORMS AND SHAPES
Wire forms and shapes aren’t
necessarily springs, they are often suspension hooks, support
wires, guide wires, location pins etc. From a spring point of
view they are produced from an elastic
material, a spring
quality material, that gives the part the functionality needed
for the mechanism in question.
Depending on the design of function a spring wire shape could be
stressed in shear or bending, possibly both and here good design
is essential along with consideration to best production
technique.
The wire may not be of round cross section, although this is
often the case as round wires are cheaper to produce and the
finished component usually cheaper to tool up. But nothing
should be ignored and good design means considering all the
options for best fit and function.
Kato-Entex has considerable experience of
producing wire shapes
over its many years in business. From wire parts that have
activated military systems to a simple axle in a child’s toy, with
development components formed up by hand to complex shapes off
multi-slide machines and the invaluable flexibility gained from
using state of the art CNC coil formers. Choose any material you
like to meet your products environmental needs and we will help
you to come up with a solution of the best wire form for the
job.
